New favourite sushi spot in Ottawa!! Im a bit picky when it comes to sushi and before coming here, didnt particularly enjoy the sushi spots Ive tried in the capital. Hanabi has changed my mind!!! Went for dinner and it was sooo delicious!! Sushi tastes so fresh and clean, well cooked and seasoned. All round delicious sushi. We also got the Udon Seafood Noodles and omg that broth This is going to become my Ottawa sushi spot for sure!! Fast service and friendly staff, great experience all around.

The food was amazing and the sushi tasted really fresh! The staff were also very kind. I’ve been to Japan before and can confirm that the sushi here tastes almost the same as in Japan! And for what they offer, the prices were pretty reasonable in my opinion. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves sushi or Japanese cuisine in general. This place did not disappoint.

Wow this place is yummy. There was no wait but seems to have steady traffic. Got the maki lunch and the deep fried ice cream ( I got vanilla, but they also have green tea and mango flavour ). It came with a soup, salad, and a good amount of sushi for one person. Tasted really great. The atmosphere was very nice. Calming music, cool temperature, and kind staff. Very good experience overall. Will definitely be coming back with my friends.

i got the sashimi just for me which came with a garden salad and miso soup which were both good. the sashimi was good but its i think i bit into a bone a few times? not even sure if thats possible with sushi grade fish. the quality of the fish was good but they definitely could have waited a little longer for the fish to thaw as i was essentially biting into frozen fish. not bad at all but not my favorite, and id come again to try their rolls!

Fresh, flavorful sushi at great value. The salmon skin roll is a standout—crispy, rich, and perfectly balanced. Excellent service and easy seating, whether you book ahead or walk in. Great for dine-in or takeout. Highly recommend!

Honestly, one of the best sushis I’ve had in a while!! Everything was so fresh and the mix of flavors was amazing too. I’ve ordered the Spicy Gari Salmon, Tuna Tataki (a must to try!), Golden Wrap with eel, Yaburi Escolar Butter Fish (also a must try!) and the mango salad

Such great food and hardworking staff. Food came out quick considering that it was a busy evening. It's a medium-sized restaurant that focuses on delicious, fresh Japanese food including sushi. Great textures and flavours that mingle together. You can see the staff making sushi behind the counter. The odd time they might look up and greet you or flash a smile.

Hanabi is my go to every time I visit Ottawa. The food is always delicious, although I've never tried their ramen, I always go for the sushi. The "Five Island Roll" is one of their best (my dad has travelled from Montreal to Ottawa just to have it) the sauce that comes with it is insane, I highly recommend it. Similarly "Aurora" is a great option for a healthier sushi there, my personal favorite.
